Director Cuts Ribbon at

Sly Creek Reservoir

A little rain on May 16 did not keep Interim Director Carl Moore and others from dedicating $379,000 in boating facilities improvements at Sly Creek Reservoir in Butte County. The project included a new boat launching ramp, courtesy dock and fish cleaning station located near the dam and, located near the Strawberry Campground, a new cartop boat launching ramp, paved parking lot and restroom.

"This project was accomplished through the cooperation of state, federal, and local agencies, working together to provide improved boating access to Sly Creek Reservoir," said Moore.

Joining Moore were Jerome Caston, District Ranger for the Feather River Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest, and Steve Onken, Power Division Manager, Oroville Wyandotte Irrigation District. The Department funded the improvements and the irrigation district operates the facility under a special use permit for the Plumas National Forest
