The California Department of Boating and Waterways cordially invites to participate in the 18th Annual Safe and Wise Water Ways Poster Contest. The contest is a fun and creative way to teach boating and aquatic safety to student. Plus, students have a chance to win cool prizes for their classmates, teachers, schools and themselves! 

FACT: Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional death among children ages 1-4 years and children 10-14 years. – Safe Kids

FACT: Safety lessons learned and practiced at an early age serve to protect individuals throughout their life. – DBW’s Philosophy

The primary goal of this poster contest is to teach students safety lessons that they can use when near or in the water.
