Below are all the datasets referenced in the Coastal Sediment Management Workgroup Web Mapper. When applicable, links to the Source Agency's webpage are given in place of a direct download of the data. This ensures that users obtain the latest data from the Source Agency. Additional GIS resources related to coastal management are provided at the end of page for the user's convenience.

Each download at a minimum contains a shapefile with metadata and a layer file (.lyr) for symbology. There are a few zipped packages that contain an ESRI File Geodatabase (.gdb) as well, to preserve field names and field contents that were otherwise truncated when exporting to the shapefile format. All datasets are in WGS 1984 (GCS_WGS_1984).

This is version 3.0 of the CSMW GIS data release. A data migration document with a full inventory of the older versions is available upon request. Contact Clif Davenport (Clif.Davenport@conservation.ca.gov) or the eCoastal GIS Team (ECoastal.GIS@usace.army.mil).

USGS TNM Transportation The USGS transportation service from The National Map is based on TIGER/Line data provided through U.S. Census Bureau, with U.S. Forest Service data incorporated on some, but not all, National Forests. Some of the TIGER/Line data includes limited corrections done by USGS and contractors to USGS. Transportation data consists of roads, airports, railroads, and other features associated with the transport of people or commerce. The data include the name or route designator, classification, location, and for most roads, address ranges. Transportation data support general mapping and geographic information system technology analysis for applications such as routing and navigation, traffic safety, congestion mitigation, disaster planning, and emergency response. The National Map transportation data is commonly used with other data themes, such as elevation, boundaries, and hydrography, to produce general reference maps that often serve as base maps for special purpose mapping.
